Despite persistent complaints about the state of corridor lights at the Great Independence Hall of Residence, the issue remains unresolved.

Recall that IndyPress had earlier reported on the issue in August. However, as of the time of filing this report, the faulty corridor lights have yet to be fixed.

Speaking with IndyPress, the Hall Secretary, Lawal Azeez, said he had met with the Hall Management concerning the issue.

“The supervisor told me that a survey will be carried out to know the amount of bulbs to be gotten, which was later done,” he said.

He added that he later followed up with the supervisor, who informed him that a survey had been conducted to determine the number of bulbs and other electrical materials needed.

According to him, the supervisor had submitted a request to the Hall Management for funds to purchase 200 bulbs.

“They are currently waiting for approval, after which the bulbs will be purchased and the faulty fluorescent and other electrical bulbs will be replaced,” he added.
