A University of Ibadan graduate and prospective corps member, alongside other prospective corps members, has reportedly been abducted while travelling from Oyo State to their NYSC orientation camps.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council, Oyo State Axis, and the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Oyo State Chapter, have called for the immediate release of prospective corps members reportedly abducted while travelling from Samonda, Ibadan.

The University of Ibadan has held a fire safety training for hall personnel and students, aimed at equipping representatives from the halls of residence with theoretical and practical knowledge of fire safety to enable them to train other members of their respective halls.

The Office of the Dean of Students, University of Ibadan, is set to hold a fire-safety training for hall personnel and students ahead of the commencement of LPG use for cooking in the Halls of Residence (HoRs).

It further warned that if a semi final result could be overturned solely because a later panel disagreed with the initial judges, the same principle would have to apply to all semi final rounds held that day.

At the end of the exercise, the Faculty of Education Literary and Debating Society recorded 82.4 per cent, while the Faculty of Law Literary and Debating Society scored 84.6 per cent.

Ezekiel Oluwaseyi Agboola, a 400-level student of the Department of Physics, University of Ibadan and a former UI Students’ Union Public Relations Officer (PRO) contestant, has emerged as the Chairman of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Oyo State Chapter.

The University of Ibadan Electrical Maintenance Unit has attributed the ongoing power outage at the University to a fault on the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) 132kV transmission line supplying the University of Ibadan and Ibadan North 132/33kV Injection Substations.
